Beginners level

Gentle stretching, balancing and strengthening exercises that coordinates breathing with movement and relaxation. Great for invigorating the body and mind, improving circulation, reducing stress, strengthening the immune system and detoxifying the body. Suitable for all ages and abilities.
Intermediate levelDynamic exercises that work in harmony with your body to give you strength and confidence. Improves cardiovascular fitness, creates muscle tone and definition, controls weight and corrects posture. Used by athletes to enhance performance, guard against injury and recuperate from exertion.

Advanced level

A non-competitive martial art suitable for all that holds a strong sense of moral balance at its core. A way of protecting yourself and those you care for from an immediate physical threat. A way of integrating mind, body and spirit: a way of life.

The Nottingham Club meets periodically, when our coach is in town. 

We recommend people who want a regular beginner's class to take a Tai Chi course with a regular tutor. You can find regular lessons by searching on the internet. 

Sylabus:


If you have one or more years experience of Tai Chi, you are welcome to join in our practice session, but please contact us before dropping in: the sessions are held somewhat infrequently at the moment, and you will have to ask to find out when the next one will be.

Daniel Poon began practicing Tai Chi in 1988 when in Taipei, Taiwan. Living in in England, he continued to pursuing Tai Chi with local and visiting masters, including Michael Tse and Chen Xiaowang. 


In 1998, Daniel went to Beijing, where his uncle, who ran the Beijing Wushu team, introduced him to a number of outstanding masters, including Tian Qiutian. When Chen Xiaowang introduced him to the headmaster of the Tai Chi school in Chen Village, Chen Xiaoxing, Daniel received an invitation to study at his school. 


Between the year 2000 to 2001, he lived in Chen Village, studying Tai Chi. Daniel began teaching in 1995, and in 1996 featured on the cover of the international publication, Qi Magazine
